WIRRAL RESOURCE CENTRE AND TOY LIBRARY for
Children with Special Needs is an OSFTED Registered Creche (No. 306524)
providing quality care and support for the Children of Wirral and their
parents and carers by dedicated staff and volunteers.
The Centre is supported by Wirral Borough Council’s Children and Young
Persons’ Department. The Centre has Charitable status (No. 505297)
V.A.T. registration (No.166196931).
The Children with special needs have the benefit of the services of specialist
therapists (Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language
Therapists).
The Management Committee is responsible for the running of WRCTL. There
are 3 full-time members of staff, a part-time Administrative Assistant and
25 volunteers. All persons involved with running WRC&TL have CRB enhanced
clearance and ALL Committee Members and Staff have passed suitability checks
carried out by OFSTED.
From time to time we carry out fund raising events in order to supplement
the Grant from Wirral Borough Council.
Aims and Objectives

To assist the development from the earliest age of all children with special needs, whatever their disability, through all forms of play activities.

To provide classes for our children with special needs children, which include physio, speech and occupational therapy sessions.

To provide and develop our premature babies group. To provide in-house training for volunteers, parents and staff to enhance their understanding and coping skills to deal with requirements of children with special needs.

To provide up to date external training for staff and volunteers in conjunction with Wirral Children’s and Young Persons Services e.g. Health and Hygiene Training, Child Protection Training, First Aid Training
